Not sure how many of you know about this... but I don't like it personally! Looks like Microsoft need something to inspire vista sales and tbh Alan Wake can probably do that!

What does everyone think?

Sweet, I know theres always a way around these thing these days, good to know for sure!

what a load of tosh. vista hasn't been doing too badly and the sales of this game will be a drop in the ocean compared to overall vista sales. :p

There isn't "Always" a way around these things.
If there was then I'm sure somebody would have hacked DirectX 10 to work under XP.
There is absolutely no way anybody can know for sure.

Dx10 can't be hacked as its hardware, Alan Wake is a game, so software, and it will be made to work on XP before the game comes out, just like Halo2 was. :)

But it wasn't using DX10, just the DX10 ultra high details. (so late, re: crysis)
Was there not a thread about this last year? Think there were 2 camps, those who were outraged thought it a hideous crime, worse than terrorism... And also, those who didn't really care. We all have to "upgrade" some time.

you could say the same for virtually every OS out there though. once the big companys sell X with a machine its sales improves. hardly something worth mentioning really :)

Right, but XP has been around much longer than 95\98\ME were. The latter lasted around 2 years each before a new release, XP has been around since 2001.
