I got my first car on Saturday just gone and am having an issue with the after market alarm and central locking system it has installed.

It's a Laserline system of unknown model fitted to my 2002 Fiesta Freestyle. It controls the alarm, immobiliser and remote central locking. There is a remote and also an electronic touch key I can use inside the car if needed.

Trouble with the remote is it doesn't always work, which is annoying because I then have to use the key to get in and the touch key to disable the immobiliser. I presume the battery is dying so I've ordered a new one for the massive cost of 90p! Just wondered if replacing the battery in the remote would mean it will drop its programming and will have to be reprogrammed, or if it will remember it if I'm quick at replacing the battery (like a Sky remote)?! If it does drop its programming, does anyone know how I'd go about reprogramming it?

Cheers
