Alarm wont stop going off! Help please

try just locking it with the key instead of the fob, doesn't enable the alarm. (although its not ideal as a long term solution) the g/f has one and doesn't bother with the second lock alarm thing at all as its way to sensitive, just uses the remote once to lock it, enable the imobalizer and door switches.

thats how its locked at the moment, so far so good. kudos to you mate thanks very much.

Can I ask you though please, does your gf's Celica have 2 red lights? One with a picture of a key on it and says "Security" and another one below it?

If so the underneath red light seems to be staying off since i've locked it with the key.....the RAC man seemed to think it was a separate, post manufacturer fitted "Thatcham alarm"

hrm... not too sure to be honest. I'll have a look tonight but i have a feeling its a single light that flashes :-)

Starting with the engine running:
Turn ignition off.
Within 5 seconds, turn the ignition back on, then off again.
Close all the doors.
Arm the Alarm.

That should arm the alarm, but ignore the motion sensors. Does the Alarm still go off?

sorry to ask a stupid question, but by ignition, do you mean the lights on the dash all on, or the whole engine?

My battery was on it's last legs recently which caused the alarm to go off during the night. Changed battery and it's not done it since.

Say your key has 3 main positions [ off | Ignition on | crank ] (some have 4 positions [ off | lights etc. on | Ignition on | Crank ])

If you turn the key, the ignition is on, if you turn it again and crank, the engine will come on, and the ignition remains on, if you turn it back, both the engine and ignition go off.

Now you know how to control the ignition, read my last post.
