Alcohol consumption

After reading the thread about drinking in your lunch hour it got me thinking just how many people think they drink too much?

I know i do, but i don't smoke and try to keep healthy,

I have around 6 500ml-750ml cans/bottles of lager each night after work

I know this is excessive but it isn't as if i do it to hide away, I love my life and i just enjoy a drink after i finish work, it doesn't get me drunk

My girlfriend at the moment says i drink too much as i have put on half a stone in the last year,

So although i know it sounds a lot, it does sound reasonable to me after working all day.

Anyone else drink every night after work but doesn't feel like it affects their life?

nah, thats fine dude - dont worry about it :) sounds like you're enjoying yourself. Life is there for living.

Coffee is just as bad as alcohol, who will admit here they are addicted to it, i could point out a couple in my office right now who wouldn't even know they are :)

Coffee is nowhere near as poisonous as alcohol. Decaf coffee doesn't even count.

Which is another good reason to not take large quantities of a highly toxic drug, as the OP is doing. It isn't so much fun living when your liver is screwed.

The reason alcohol is treated different from other recreational drugs is tradition. If it was new, it would be illegal. It's addictive, dangerous to the user and in large quantities often causes altered behaviour which makes users dangerous to other people.

Jesus christ, I can't believe some people enjoy drinking every night. Seems crazy to me and certainly unhealthy.

For the record I don't know anyone that drinks every day.
