Alcohol offers! (Beer, spirits, etc,)

I was in Majestic Wines today, and all their prices showed a Scottish and an English price. I suppose the English people get a case discount, whereas we just appear to get a pound off each bottle.

Depends on the deal. The "3 cases for £20" for example works out at £21 in Scotland as they are £7 each. Works out at 2.78p more per can.

I guess an upside to this is, if you only want 1 or 2 cases, then you actually pay less than you would down South. I am quite happy that places are doing this up here but I will see how long that lasts once minimum pricing comes in.....

Sainsburys are doing a 2 for £26 at the moment. I think it was 1l Bells, 1l Smirnoff, 1l Captain Morgans, 75cl Glenfidich 12y and some other random stuff but was a good buy :P

Multibuy alcohol deals are banned in Scotland. They do, in some cases, reduce the prices to accommodate the changes but we still seem to lose out.

I had forgot about this, diden't notice because of the deals available, they appear to have gotten round this by just offering price reductions.

Looks like this law was a complete waste on time and money.

The joys of having christmas with your parents, got every kind of spirit known to man sat in the garage, multiples of in some cases. Even got a very expensive bottle of grappa from a sicillian market.
Loads of red/ white/ rose/ champagne/ cava.
And I don't even know how many crates of decent ales and premium lager.

Be bloody glad, working 5-2am all this week so I won't get a drink til christmas eve :D

Got 30 cans croney in Tesco for that 20 quid offer, plus 12 cans Heiny for a tenner.

Add to that 18 tins of Bud I got from Asda for 7 quid - should tick me over until the Supermarket opens again.

I suppose they hope that even at a reduced price people will be inclined to buy less and save money, instead of being forced to buy a lot to get the multibuy deal.

Asda have 15x275ml Carlsberg Export for £7. Works out a slightly better deal than Tesco (I could only see 3x 12x275ml for £20).

Bought 90 bottles last night.
