It's bottle conditioned which means there is yeast still in the bottom when you get it as it finishes brewing in the bottle. It comes out about 6.5% and is awesome. According to the brewers web site it is in the top 50 beers in the world! (as of aug 06) http://www.shepherdneame.co.uk/news/release.php?id=541
The only place I have seen it outside of the brewery shop is Asda
I'm not a massive ale drinker but i have it every now and again. I wasn't too keen on black sheep tbh, the best Ive tried so far has to be Bishops Finger .
Ive started to like whiskey as of yesterday when my sister brought me a 500ml bottle of JD back from Amsterdam. I started sipping it from the bottle and had polished it off by the time the film i was watching ended lol.
Rigglewelter is a top choice as is Black Sheep Emmerdale (well so far as im concerened). If you can find any I would also suggest Granny Wouldn't Like It from the Wolf Brewery and St Peters Golden Ale.
I might be on to a loser here, but does anyone know of any shops that sell microbrewery beers around Leeds? Most places just seem to have the standard stuff.
There are too many good ales to mention, anything by Black Sheep or Theakstons is excellent stuff, Shepherd Neame's Spitfire is excellent stuff on a hot day
There is a small brewery near Bungay in Suffolk called St Peter's and their stuff is liquid gold.
Just a heads-up I forgot to mention in last post, Tesco Beer festival starts tommorow with large selection of ales on offer along with afew new lines and local brews. Badger Poachers Choice would be my main reccomendation.
