Alex higgins R.I.P

RIP Alex "Hurricane" Higgins

Just heard he's passed away. Looked terrible recently to be fair. A true legend of the game, never realised how good he was until some clips from the world championships this year.

RIP Alex.
 
Not surprising I suppose, he has effectively been walking dead for years now. Even so its still yet another piece of my childhood gone, where do the years go.

Quite frankly one of the, if not THE, most flamboyant, skilled snooker players ever. RIP Alex, let no-one say that you didnt enjoy life to the , at times obscene, max :)
 
Was only a few days ago i seen in a paper that he needed to get healthy before having the op for dental implants. To late it seems :(
 
A character with a very troubled life, for sure, but also a very good player. Sadly his demons got the better of him both on and off the table, but whatever else anyone may think of him, he was an entertainer to the end.

Requiescat in pace Alex "Hurricane" Higgins.
 
Greatest respect to a true showman.
Had the pleasure of shaking hands with him at the Crucible many years ago, then watched him play.....he pulled off some unbelievable shots that could only be done by a man with his talent......had it not been for his demons then he would have gone a lot further, but then it was his demons that made him the man he was.
