Alfa Romeo 4C at Geneva

I usually like Alfas but that's seriously ugly to me. Too far in the wavy/bulgy direction. Looks like the lovechild of a Koenigsegg and a Mito.

Looks fantastic. Performance figures are pretty impressive on the face of it, as well.

I can see it being a success if Alfa get the price right.

Intesting looking. As already stated, the real questions are about the specs, i.e. where's the engine and which wheels are being driven. Additionally, how did they get the weight that low? Did they do a Vauxhall and buy in a chassis from Lotus, the stuff a new frock on it, is it based upon a Punto, or is it something new?

Indeed. I think i've read the chassis is KTM X-Bow based or bought in, which bodes well for starters.

Alfa Exige, lol.

There's only 3 ways we'll see this car:
-Wait a lot of years!
-It's based on a Ferrari again and costs a bomb.
-It's front wheel drive.

Fiat's ties with GM are now cut, so it won't be VX220/Lotus derived. Chrysler got nothing...

Looks like an Alfa 8C and a Nissan 370Z got busy in a broom cupboard while having fantasies about Lotus Elise's.

Lets just hope it goes as well as it looks.

According to the blurb in the Times driving section the other day it's based on the KTM x-bow chassis, has a more powerful 235bhp version of the 1.7 turbo engine, is mid engined and rear wheel drive. Weighs in at 850kg and expected price is £38K.

Very much do want¬ :D

Dear god that really increases the want.

This could really be a contender to replace the cayman!

Only downside I see with it without driving is lack of N/A engine (helps keep weight down i suppose) and lack of manual gearbox. Not sure about alfas tct box, review i read of MiTo with TCT absolutely slated it.

Like, except for the 1.75l engine

an option with a bit more poke would be good, especially considering how much that thing is probably going to cost

Light shells dont need big engines.

My 636cc (0.6L) engine will put out 125bhp at the crank according to the numbers.. as standard. If its based anything on the KTM then itll be born with biking/racing genetics..

These sorts of cars are all about the high revving and quick pace.. not the heavy v8 making it unstable in the corners.
