I want to watch a horror film with the wife, unfortunately she doesn't like serial killer horror and ghost horror is definitely out. However, alien films are ok. So what decent horror films are there which have an alien theme?

I don't need any Event Horizon/Alien suggestions.

Prometheus?

Alternatively, there is the Hammer Horror collection. Which is not scary in the slightest.

A couple of suggestions (Stab in the dark really)

1st 2 Predator films,
Invasion of the body Snatchers (the one with Donald Sutherland)
This Island Earth & the original the day the earth stood still (creepy music) bit tame I know, but scared people back in the 50's
John Carpenters They Live.

Don't forget Species and Spliced, both Thing movies and the Alien series. Galaxy of Terror is actually so bad that you'll end up laughing through most of it.

Pandorum horror wise is pretty tame, the first bit is kind of tense but then they ruin it - semi decent sci-fi after that though but definitely not the horror movie its cracked up to be.

Have to admit I've never fully watched the thing - I started watching it aged about 8 or 9 and it scared the living **** out of me (its probably laughable now and I've no doubt watched far scarier movies since - I need to actually watch it fully sometime).

Lifeforce
The Faculty
Invasion Of The Body Snatchers
Bad Taste
The Blob (both 50s & 80s versions)
C.H.U.D.

[EDIT] Forgot about one of the best sci fi horror comedies, Slither :D

It's still a masterpiece.
The practical effects may seem slightly dated, but they're still better and more effective than the cgi in the crappy prequel from a couple of years back.

You owe it to yourself to watch this film.
