Alien Isolation: Custom Graphics Engine

Actually no i did not complete it, got to the woman inured on the floor, think it was taylor then just lost interest.

That just after coming from medical? Think that's only chapter 4..

Should stay with it.. You shouldn't put something across without first experiencing it fully..

Maybe I lost interest too quickly, Having said that skyrim still floats my boat, keeping gamers interested to keep playing a game is quite difficult, I may try it again in a few months after I complete gta v :)

never played this game, looks too much like sneeking about hiding, real men come out all guns blazing

What if you can't find a suitable gun to fight the alien with? Not all spaceships have weapon armories/colonial marines stationed there.

Would you just lay down and give up? Or try and escape with your life? The game really captures this element so well.

no i still dont get it, in my games i have to kill mame and blow stuff up, thats how i roll

Only scratched the surface of this one, must get back on it.

Regarding the engine, whilst it looks very nice and runs very well, the framework and design of this game is essentially a 'narrow corridor' type, which is hardly original or stressful on modern hardware. It's not exactly skyrim in its scale and open worldliness is it.

Agreed on the engine - was a bit wary my aging GTX480 wouldn't be able to handle this given how good it looked and how it was a latest gen console release but was pleasantly suprised to be able to max it with decent framerate (no AA, didn't need it).

Would be good to see what a more open-world shooty type of FPS could look like with it!

Wrong game for you then. The game captures the atmosphere of the first Alien movie exceptionally well. I'm glad they didn't involve any real guns on this one after Gearbox's Colonial Marines fiasco. If you want guns'n'killing you should try Rebellion's first Aliens vs Predator from 1999. It's really great even that the graphics are a bit dated. It still has some horrible atmosphere left.

You can get the best experience out of Alien Isolation by watching the first movie first, after that you'll start looking everywhere you can.
