Is it part of the film or an extra to watch? Only ask because I've had the Blurays for years and never actually watched them
There was more CGI in it than that. the Dog Alien was in some scenes CGI and when you see the Alien running on the roof of the corridors and skipping through the door near the end too plus when the Alien comes upto Ripley on the floor in the infirmary the long shot is CGI and the close up is mechanical.
This guys not CGI though he's my brother!

Killing off Hicks and Newt without so much as a by your leave was a massive mistake. I really hope Michael Biehn comes back for Blomkampp's Alien.
Not sure I agree. The world of Alien was always unforgiving. Ripley was lucky twice, and her luck ran out in 3. Even had Hicks and the girl survived, you couldn't really re-use their characters in the 3rd film.
If they get rescued, Hicks returns to the Marines and the little girl gets sent home.
If they crash-land, etc, you have another film with a little girl running away from aliens being a liability and more Ripley acting like her Mum. No thanks.
The killing of Hicks and the girl was really no big deal for me.
Alien 3 isn't a bad film. There are some likeable characters like the doctor. Some memorable scenes like the chase through the tunnels.
Then again, the CGI is terrible. Why does the alien glow green? I never understood that.
Tbh if it wasn't an alien film it would be a passable sci-fi. Nothing great but not bad.
The trouble is, it's an Alien film, and as such didn't meet the high standards of the first two.

i was sorely disappointed at alien 3 , just because aliens was so amazing
it was an impossible act to follow i guess

Thought the Directors Cut was a lot better.
Wished they never killed off Ripley.

I keep meaning to go back and re-watch Alien 3 to see if I still hate it as much as I did.
I'm not going to be subjecting myself to Prometheus again any time ever though.
It makes me glad to see all the Prometheus hate On release there were so many people calling it awesome, and I just wanted to punch all of them in the nuts

As a big Aliens fan I just hope they dont make another film just for the sake of it, like they kept churning out games with alien in the title.
Alien: Isolation appears to be the first decent game Aliens related for a long time, I havent had the chance to play it yet but it looks promising!

I'm a massive fan of the whole Aliens franchise so I queued at the cinema for the midnight opening while wearing my Nostromo t-shirt like a true fan-boi but came out 2 hrs later wondering what the hell had gone so very badly wrong that a Ridley scott Alien film could be so dire, until I saw Damien Lindhof's name as a screenwriter and it all fell into place, the **** story writing ****!
Alien 3, directors cut, the one where the last hour is completly different but with the same ending? that's a great movie, better than Alien 2 and imho closer to the original as far as Alien horror and suspense goes.
i really liked the 4th movie, apart from Alien getting sucked out into space, or blown out? that spoiled it for me, just too much?
