Aliens vs. Predator DirectX 11 Benchmark Now Available

it just seems odd to me the low fps in some of these results , i mean look at my results (average of 30.8) with crossfired 5770's and the phenom II 955BE . while not the fastest system by any means but in game it never goes below 60fps for me with v-sync on , max detail and 4x aa . even one of the results i have seen gives an i7 [email protected] + 5870 29.7fps , i mean come on a system like that with a low average of 29.7fps what gives ?

i have rerun this bench with the MSAA set to 1 and turned on crossfire this time , i forgot to turn it on before i think (turned it off for sc2 beta) . still stock speeds (2x 5770's and phenom II 955BE)

chaotic. what are your clocks for CPU and GPU? I have reduced my crossfire 5770 clocks to 900/1300 and my i7 is at 4.0ghz and my score is the same as yours now.

Unless it's GPU dependent it would seem my "Intel rule the roost these days" philosophy is a load of balls.

hmm will give this a spin when i return from cyprus :D will show what a tri-fire setup can do :D

My first runs above were all clocked @ 900/1250, the 5870 is a vapor-x flashed with the asus bios. .. I upped the clocks to 950/1250 and get the values as summarised below (high is all on highest settings, low is all settings at their lowest - resolution = 1920x1080):

Trifire high: Average FPS: 64.1
Trifire default : Average FPS: 109.1
Trifire low: Average FPS: 230.0

5970 high: Average FPS: 60.9
5970 default : Average FPS: 104.5
5970 low: Average FPS: 209.3

5870 high: Average FPS: 35.7
5870 default : Average FPS: 60.4
5870 low: Average FPS: 135.6

The lack of VRAM on the ATI cards might be hurting it. the high detail run above used 1150 MB of video memory according to Afterburner.

So the extra 5870 gives you less than 10% extra. That seems a bit pants.

On this game - Yeah its crap!

Scaling on 2 is good but for tri-fire the GPUs are at around 66% which indicates bad scaling ... either the drivers need a bit of tweaking or the graphics engine is written in such a way that parallelisation is limited. I wonder how 3 x GTX 480s cope - that would help point the finger :D

Looking at your GPUZ info screens Ninja, I have differing values to yours.

The pixel fillrates and texture fillrates are lower than yours?

Pixel fillrate on my 5970 is 23.2

Texture fillrate on the 5970 is 58.0

Pixel on my 5870 is 27.2

Texture on my 5870 is 58.0

What's that all about?

Edit

Must be your overclock?

Over clock = 950/725 = 1.31 therefore over clocked fill rate = 1.31 * 23.2 = 30.4 - that's what that is all about ..:)
