Getting one of these soon, going for the i5 version for that currently comes with the 1gb gtx 645. Has the optional upgrade for the 1.5gb gtx 760 for an extra £200.

Would I be able to buy that 1.5gb gtx 760 seperately at a later date and put it in myself? Or are these cards specially designed and made for the x51?

You'd have to check what the warranty covers, but I would think about looking at a build here first! Those machines are expensive for what they are and you'd get better value for money building yourself. Better choice of parts and tech.

Mate explain to the bird that the Alienware PC is going to be several hundred quid more expensive and not as good as what you could build. Then she either sees logic or you chuck her, you can't risk producing children with something that might pass on stupidity

They're just so obvious, like a boy racer car with neons. No class about them.

X51 only has the little fin type window on either side, it emits the same amounts as a fan with lights on it if not less.

Anyhow I have changed my mind about getting one, interested in buying a hadron or a silverstone. Not sure what sort of build will fit in it though.

Judging from pictures I've seen it uses a desktop card fitted with a PCI-E riser. Space seems limited though so I'm not sure how long a card you could fit in. It also looks like you'd be limited to a blower-style cooler too.

Personally, I'd build my own in a case like THIS and stick it in the TV cabinet. It looks way better in my opinion and you'd get more bang for your buck too.

my Evga 670 ftw powered x51 has been fantastic over the last 2 years.
I would never bother building a pc ever again. and yes i did upgrade the video card myself.

alienware said they would honour the pc for all parts except the video card and supported me with my upgrade..........

its a fantastic machine.....

Have the case and it works great as a little gaming box, you have 10.3" to play with so there is a lot of cards you can use and the PSU is solid and i've seen it run GTX680's without issue. (10.3" if the power connectors are on the top)
