how good is this...especiallly the i3 version. It seems a little pricy and is there other alternatives, or goin for a full tower for the same price as the x51, also how future proof is it....

IMHO its an over priced bag of ****. f your going alienware then get a laptop as their desktops lack upgradeablity with none of the mobility benefits.

Better CPU, better GPU by far, SSD and you can swap bits out at leisure, room for a 3.5" drive as well and a slim optical if you feel the need but i was going for price match.

If you have some spare pennies then i would add these too, not sure on coolers with that board though, love the box myself as its compact and quiet.

Thanks for the info Gav, the alienware isnt for me, im trying to talk sumone out of getting one and dont know enough about it to argue my corner, all i know is its like a xbox but with sata ports....and you can get a better setup for more or less same price.

Avoid the Gigabyte ITX board if you are planning on overclocking, the Asrock is only £10 more most places, or the Asus for £40 more if you need more CPU cooler clearance.

It got good reviews pre release, though to be honest i have not looked into the board very much. The Asrock one is a great little board though.
