At 3kg's youd need scaffolding in your case to keep that thing in place

. I have the black version with 2 fans on it, and its pretty heavy. I thought about getting the copper version until i found out how heavy it was

Tom's hardware seems to think it will be released this month, weighing 1.9Kg rather than 3, probably still going to be one of the heaviest cpu coolers ever.

Good to hear that the 3kg weight issue was unfounded. Still, at 1.9kg's its pretty heavy. Wouldnt mind trying one just to see if it gives any temp reduction over my current black version.

I would only put one of those in a horizontal system.. 2-3kg pulling down on your motherboard can't br healthy.

the weight is a bit "TRUEXTREME" i would not want to risk a big chunk missing out of my mobo where the CPU is ment to be sitting, Maybe ZIPTie it like Pneumonic did in his eXtreme aircooled system or this only for benchmark n3rds
