I installed a Thermalright HR-03 PLUS on my 8800GTX last night, and I'm pretty amazed with the results.
I thought that it was going to be a difficult install, but it was surprisingly easy. I was a bit shocked when I removed the stock cooler to find that only about 40% of the GPU was in contact with the heatsink! After I got all of the goop cleaned off with TIM cleaner, it was pretty straightforward to attach the heatsinks to the RAM etc, and then attach the main cooler to the GPU.
I expected it to block all of my PCI slots, but the bottom one is well clear, and this is with a Zalman 92mm fan attached.
My temps with the stock cooler (fan on auto) were: -
Idle - 57c
Load - 77c
and with the HR03-PLUS
Idle - 41/42c
Load 51/52c
That's 15/16c off idle and an amazing 25/26c off load
Oh, and I managed to OC the core to 648mhz compared to the 621mhz maximum with the stock cooler! It may even go higher, but I didn't have a lot of time last night. So the reduced temps were with the core running higher as well
Of course the other good thing is that the cooler looks really cool, although when I showed the missus, all she could say was "it's just a big ugly hunk of metal"
But she is a woman after all.
I would highly recommend this cooler to anyone who hasn't got more than 1 PCI card. For the performance it gives, the price is very reasonable. I've seen people with watercooling not reach these low temps
