Hi

Ladels and jellyspoons.

Looking for a few ideas here. i am finaly going to pay for virus software and stray away from the free ones.

I want something that does pretty much everything firewall, virus, spyware.

im open to any ideas except Symantec :mad:

not a fan of norton.

Because i have never purchased any i dont know which is best.

Any helpo would be great

Kaspersky or NOD are the stock replies. But whats wrong with the mighty Avira AntiVir alongside Comodo firewall? OK, they are free but test results show Avira comprehensively outgunning the payware AV's on a regular basis, and Comodo is pretty much as good as anything out there firewall-wise.

Cheers im using Avira just now. have no issues with it, but always thaught if you were to pay for something it would be far better than free, pluss its something psychological about free says danger to me.

commonsense.exe has always worked for me - it's free too

I'd recommend NOD32, i've always liked it, it's nice and lightweight and hasn't caused me any problems. I didn't like kaspersky as much since it was heavier on my system. Also, you can't go wrong with bitdefender, it's a very good lightweight system too.

There is a paid for version of Avira that includes firewall, etc. No idea if it's any good, but if happy with the free anti virus pack then maybe support them.

Avira does seam to be realy decent and the yearly fee isnt to bad for it either.

The free version of Avira is a great AV prog. and you are correct in a sense as the pay version has extra features biggie being more Malware detection spyware etc

If you are going for a all in one Suite Kaspersky Internet security 2009 is a very good choice.

Download a few trials and see what one you prefer etc
