Are these any good, and can someone reccomend me a decent one? Preferably one where the ink doesn't constantly dry up, like on my epson printer.

No good for you, but I've just bought an Epson DX6000.

As you say, it’s a bit thirsty on ink because it’s an Epson, but the overall performance and features far outweigh that for me :)

Non-gen ink can be had really cheaply on the Bay anyway?

And, I'm getting the printer delivered for £59.99

The print heads need cleaning all the time though because epson have them on the printers and not the cartridges like over brands, so while the cartridges are a lot cheaper, for people who don't use the printer often like me, they spend more time cleaning the printheads than printing.

Agreed :(

But for me at the moment, with all my 3rd year Uni work, it'll be in daily use - so it shouldn't be a problem :D

My current printer, the C62, constantly requires cleaning, and that usually uses about half the ink...

...but at £2 a pop for the carts, I'm not that bothered. Looking ahead though, my new DX6000's cartridges look a tad more expensive :(

For the moment anyway.

Right DONT bother with an epson, I personally hate the dam things.

Go for a Canon as you will not be dissapointed. Im really chuffed with ours. I printed some mr bean stuff for my kids and I was blown away by the quality on cheap photocopier paper, our last epson was never that good and we got sick of it constantly cleaning itself and clogging up.

EDIT: Our printer is the MP160 and was had for £40-ish
