Hey lads,

I've had this problem the last few days where everything stops responding after around an hour. I can't even open up Task manager when it stops responding but can move my mouse.

I have reformatted my computer and its still doing it.

Specs:
i5 2500k (Stock speed with customer cooler)
z68AP mobo
8Gb Kingston 1600 Mhz
64Gb Corsair M4 SSD (OS)
1Tb Hdd (Storage)
570GTX Windforce.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Have you updated the firmware on the SSD?

I think there was a bug in the M4 firmware which caused problems after 5,000 hours total use.

Found the thread: M4 SSD 5200 hour timebomb

We are aware of an issue that is currently affecting a small number of users whereby their m4 causes their system to require a restart. This issue occurs after approximately 5,000 hours of actual “on time” use. Following the initial reboot, the system then requires subsequent restarts after each additional hour of use. However, the data on the SSD is unaffected and will not be lost due to this condition.

Look on Crucial's site for the latest firmware.

5386 hours!!

I've just upgraded the firmware again to see if that fixes it.

Do you think I'm going to need to buy a new one?

Cheers

The updated firmware will fix the issue if you have the 5,200 hour bug so no.

If it doesn't fix the issue then you would seem to have another problem which happens to coincide with your SSD having ~5,200 hours use.

I guess we'll find out in around an hour.
