All this talk of the lack of enough Vram?

Think something needs to be done to reel in this sort of thing. 2GB was the standard not so long ago and now we have games hitting over 4GB in 1080p. Bit of a joke tbh. The average Dan can't always afford to keep upgrading to play the latest titles.

I play FarCry4 and BF4 at 1920x1080 with a 2GB card that's not far off 3 years old. All is perfectly fine here.

There are VERY few games that have issues at this res and VRAM. You would expect games like Skyrim with ridiculous texture packs to have issues i suppose, because you're bolting on more and more very inefficiently. Other than that, the LotR game and Sleeping Dogs with high AA.

Only trouble with plasma screens is the re-gassing. I'm dreading when mine will need it. :(

what ! it'll never need re-gassing.............the plasma's only fault is screen image retention...

get yourself a Panasonic plasma, it's the best tv there is...even better if you get it calibrated

overblown issue tbh.

most of this is down to crappy ports console to pc with ubisoft as usual being the worst of the offenders.

4k isnt a gaming reality. its a dream really. your being sold it too early. 2 to 3 years too early!

funny thing is by time we have gpus capable of playing it properly it will be succeeded.

so save yourself the headache forget all the sales pitches about going 4k and play at the gaming res that most of us do and enjoy gaming.

1080,1440 are fine and wont break your bank or give out enough heat to cook your sunday dinner :p

just to highlight this biggest fps of now bf4 can be run on a 970 gtx at 1440 no vram issues

newest biggest fps Battlefield hardline which will be for next year is fine vram wise at 1440

panic over back to gaming.

At 1440 bf4 wont even break 2800mb let alone the 3.5gb that curtails the 970 in bodged games, (ie rubbish soft titles).
