Can anyone recommend a good company to courier a set of 4 alloys (18") with tyres (within mainland UK)

Thanks! :)

www.paisleyfreight.com

Used them myself to collect some wheels from someone recently. Just make sure they follow the guidelines of protecting them.

What would you recommend for protecting them? If they're being sent with tyres attached I'd imagine it's just the faces of the alloys that need covering? Although the website says covered in cardboard and bubble wrap!

I used http://www.parcel2go.com/ a while back to send a set of alloys and they were the best price I could find at the time.

I can't see a dedicated alloy wheels option - is it just a case of using the multiple parcels option?

I had 4 alloys collected recently by CityLink via www.Parcelmonkey.com

Good service, next day with good tracking. If i recall it was less than £30, alloys in question were 19" with 255(front) and 285(rear) width tyres fitted to give you an idea of size.

Yep a sheet of cardboard covering the alloy itself and then a few wraps of bubble wrap with parcel tape over the whole wheel should be fine.

Same as I used. Maybe a bit overkill but after the bubble wrap was applied I put each wheel in a bin liner too.

Can't actually recall m8, sorry. I think it just went with multiple parcels and weight but it was about 10 months ago so my memory is hazy at best. That's a very good price that Jez has just posted though. I think Parcel2Go were about the same, maybe slightly less. Sorry I can't be more specific.

Sounds simple enough for packaging, cheers.

Thanks for the links, I think I'll have a play about with them and see what comes out tops.

I've used paisley freight three times now, two sets of wheels and an exhaust system, and they've been fine all three times.

When I've sent wheels, just cardboard on the faces stuck on with loads of tape.

Pallet wrap would be way easier though if you had some, to hold the cardboard on I mean.
