Alloy wheels

Okay, thanks for all the replies, I honestly thought Kwik Fit would have at least tried to seal the rim to the tyre, but all they did was confirm what I already knew, it leaked air
After this weekend, I'm off to another garage that sealed my other wheels, I have no idea of the compound they used
I never asked them, but it worked
I'll get back to you, after its done (maybe)

Just an update on my alloy wheels

As I said, I found this little local tyre place, Polish or Romainians, but who cares as long as they do a good job

He took off the rear wheel (which was the worse)

The tyre was buggered by it going down and the weight of the car on it

There was white powdery stuff on the inside of the alloy wheel, no problem he said 'wire brush get that off'

His mate took off the other problem alloy, same thing, another going over with the wire brush

I asked him is it worth changing all the tyres

He said ' no only one, I give you special deal 65 quid'

He cleaned up all the alloys, inside put a new tyre on, put all the tyres back on the alloys

Job done

75 quid all told

I had various quotes from companies about refurbishing or renovating the alloys, they ranged from £90 a wheel up to £150

He fixed them up with a wire brush and a bucket of water

To say I was pleased is an understatement

He actually turned down replacing all my tyres, where as Kwik Fit would have jumped at it

I'd recommend giving the smaller garages before the big places

I bought a Firestone tire, as he only had the one, I asked him to order another, same price, 65 quid

I posted this in this forum, same as where it started

My car is a Chrysler PT Cruiser, limited edition, a Route 66
It’s 2009 motor and hasn’t even done 70k yet
I get about 40-50 miles to a gallon
