I've booked my bike in for the end of the month.

Can you update everyone with pics and stuff? I'm integued to know just how good the cleaning process is and how thorough they are. If they simply foam the bike up and jet wash it before applying ACF50, or if they truly get it shining with good old elbow grease.

Going to be booking it in very soon, only 20 miles from one of the guys.

I used ACF50 on my bandit and it lasted all winter and most of spring with several jet washes, cracking stuff!

I'm having an issue at the moment with the Multi... Not sure how to tackle it. The bits between the disk and the inner disk on the front brake disks. The circle bits, can't remember what they are called. Anyway, they have got some rust on them... And the insides of the brackets for the disks. Really annoying me. Not sure how to clear it off.

I had the treatment done on Saturday and my verdict is that it is worth the £60.

It took 2 hours in total and the guy was working pretty much non stop on the bike.

The process on this page is what he followed with over an hour being spend on degreasing the bike. He did get rid of all the grease on the bike. http://www.allyearbiker.co.uk/Halo_Smart_Clean.html

I got a few rubbish pictures as it was too cold to get detailed pics! http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Ish__/library/AllYearBiker

Also the advice you are given when you leave is not to use degreaser on the bike but if you do have to eg. on the swingarm then give it a light wipe over with ACF.

wd40 is mostly solvents actually.

and does wash off in water and iirc traps water too, thats why it;s banned i naircraft.

It does not trap water, it's a water displacer. This is why is works so well on wet distributor caps etc. Still, I'm sure there are many more evil properties that can be attributed to WD40, it probably causes world hunger and starts wars.

im tempted to ask them if they would do a day at my place i have a bigiish back yard.
i am on a cbt still learning how to ride but i intend to sell my varadero on after i do my das next spring or summer and want to keep the bike pristine

They will travel to you if you have more than bike. The distance they would travel for no extra charge is 10 miles per bike so if you had 2 bikes they would travel 20 miles etc.

Some of them will travel even if it's one bike as long as it's within 10 miles.

He is right about the degreaser as the ACF 50 will leave a film on your bike even after normal soap washes or a jet wash. But any degreaser will get rid of the protection the ACF 50 offers.

I have done over 1,000 in the few weeks since I coated my bike in it. I've washed it a few times between and the protection is still there. And I've ridden through some serious showers! The only rust after having salt sit on the bike under a layer of grime after a down pour, is the bits between the disks and the disk mounts lol. Everything else is still perfectly protected.

it's a mixture of not particularly refined mineral oils and solvents once its solvents have evaporated off the oil will be hygroscopic and hold small amounts of water.

I've just treated my self to a Kärcher K2 compact pressure washer, with the snow foam nose attachment.

Bought some new products as well as my Autoglym shampoo 5l tub ran out...

This is my new cleaning process:

1) Spray Bilt Hamber Surfex HD degreaser onto the bike, agitating with a brush, leave to set for a few minutes. Agitate once more before jet washing it off and jetting the rest of the bike. Wipe down the chain using paraffin to get most of the crap off.

2) Soak the bike in Ultimate Snow Foam using the pressure washers snow foam lance, leave to soak a few minutes, rinse off using normal spray lance

3) Hand wash with bucket and sponge, using Autoglym shampoo, rinse off

4) Go for a quick blast on the bike to dry it and get the chain warm.

5) Apply chain wax. Spray the bike (avoiding brakes...) in ACF-50, leave to sit for 30 minutes, come back and wipe down any excess left on.

6) Apply final wax and resin polish (Autoglym, only the best :P) and buff out.

7) Sit and stare at the bike

Pretty much the same process as the allyearbiker guys. I love cleaning my bike, so thought why not :)

I like cleaning it in the warmer months! Gave the K1300 a going over just now, but freezing my digits off so it was pretty rapid cleaning! I'm out of ACF-50 now though.

I've been thinking of getting a hosepipe/pressure thing... I really should as I think I miss some things with hand washing.

My next purchase will be getting the ACF-50 bottle and mister, the can is good, but it's really messy, the mist is much better I'm told. And a much better protection overall.

With the can, all I do, is leave the can in freshly boiled water for 10 minutes and shake very well. Makes the spray much finer. I have around a 3rd left in the can, the next wash when all the kit arrives will be the remainder of it. All I do is spray over the entire bike, the disks are normally either taped up with masking tape or covered by a cloth. Then I go round with a rag after letting it sit for an hour or 2. Wiping off the excess and then leave it over night with a final wipe down in the morning. When I say the entire bike, I mean everything bar the tyres and brakes... So enginer, body work, all electronical gubbins (I don't focus on the chain at all).

When I get the mister, I will take take the seat/tank off and all that to really get into all the electronics and nooks and crannies.

Seeing as I am picking up a factory new bike decided to buy some ACF-50 to throw on while it's still so clean. Bought the 1 Litre Bottle + Spray Pump version, for £29 cannot complain!

I bought an electric paint sprayer, a bottle of ACF50 and sprayed a fine mist of ACF50 over the bike avoiding the brakes like the plague. Worked really well and was so quick and easy.
