Almost.... almost... ready to order. (EDIT: Green is changes)

Was planning on a Swiftech watercooling kit, but OCUK have no ETA for those right now. So without further ado, here is how I plan to blow a lot of money... :cool:

The gfx card is HDCP enabled. But if I remember correctly, the NEC is not
(but I didnt check before writing).
Perhaps you should get a monitor with HDCP support to go with the PC.
Just to make sure you wont get issues with HD media.

Swapped video card to a BFG as EVGA isn't available right now.

Any recommendations on a similarly specced/priced monitor?

There are not yet that many HDCP enabled monitors out there yet. Bu Samsung and Dell
has 20/21" widescreen monitors that are HDCP enabled. OcUK has them both.
They are called Samsung 215TW and Dell 2007. The Dell is on sale now!

You should check the monitor section for threads on pros and cons with these screens.

Thanks for that. The Dell looks nice, but after reading the Samsung review http://www.trustedreviews.com/displays/review/2006/06/26/Samsung-SyncMaster-215TW-21in-Monitor/p1 I found, the Samsung seems the better pick.

I have had the Samsung and a Dell 2407 on my desk. The samsung had
a very bad backlight bleeding issue, and the Dell didnt mesh well with my DVD player.
So both were returned. In fact Dells monitors have compatibilty problems with standalone
DVD players when connected via DVI. (And the component inputs are not working correctly either.) The Samsung however was a delight and worked well with everything I conected it to. Were it not for the backlight bleeding, I would have kept it.
If you only plan to use the monitor with the PC, then the Dell is also a very good monitor.
I certainly got hooked on a 24" after having one around :cool:

Would you put the bleed down to the specific monitor you received or is it a global problem with the range?

Just wondering as this wasn't picked up on the reviews...

It was probably an issue with the specific monitor I got. The box I received had been opened
so I speculate that I was not the first to receive it (and return it). I spoke with Samsung on the phone and they said it was a defective monitor I had received, based on my description. However, the etailer I used came across as a bit untrustworthy during the return procedure so I opted for money back instead of a new monitor. Better safe than sorry.
(It wasnt OCUK

For some reason I cant remember :confused:

I had my own cable which I used for it.

Gotta go for now! Ill check back in tonight sometime.

Anyways, the Samsung is a fine monitor I think, but more expensive than the Dell.
