Hi All

Just about to upgrade. Was wandering if any of you can comment on my possible set up and also cheaper alternatives. Initially i will be running 2 7900gtx cards. At the moment i am running on a8nsli amd 4400 with 4 gig ddr. But will be uprating graphics cards to 8800 SLI.

Iam looking at the following.

Any advise appreciated.

If you plan on overclocking I'd get the G0 Q6600 for only a few quid more.

Also are you keeping your graphics cards and upgrading to a 8800 after you've got this upgrade as I'd get a P35 Motherboard but obviuosly doesnt have SLI.

Also the RAM is overkill and rather expensive for 2GB RAM I'd recommend getting these Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-5300C3 667MHz which will be fine at stock and have great overclocking potential if you plan on overclocking.

Also if you are planning on overclocking you might want to get an aftermakret cpu cooler of even if you arnt as the stock one can be a bit noisey. A quiet suitable one could be a Noctua NH-U12F (Socket LGA775/754/939/940/AM2) Heatsink.

Not 100% sure of whethter to oc or not. Will be running the 2 7900gtx's in SLI until i can raise enough cash to replace them with 8800's. So will definately need an SLI board with x2 pci16 slots.I agree the memory could be a bit overkill.

I use my comp mainly for gaming, and i want to be ready for when dx10 becomes almost standard (although i think microsoft/game developers should not force people to upgrade)
