alone in the dark

Apart from that the game is quite good but everytime i go into the menu and it asks me to press ['] im not sure if its me or the game, guess i better read the manual.

i had the same problem but u gotta press the key to the left of the 1. its the hotkey button and u have to do it once and add an item to show that you have "understood" how to do it. after that it wont ask again.

I got this game last Thursday and still not managed to play it because of Mass Effect taking ages.
Do people prefer to play with keyboard 'n' mouse or with control pad?

Yes thanks, i assigned a mouse key to it now anyway ;) .

Sorted my other error, found out it was coming from Xfire, so had a few hours on it this afternoon and im quite enjoying it.

I'm stuck now so ill have a break and go back to it later.

theres a lot of stuff u can combine..i didnt know u could pour alcohol over your bullets to make em better..im stuck in the park theres a million bats in this building and im not sure wtf im supposed to do...when i get near they kill me

I could tell you as ive just completed that part, if you cant get any further email me as i dont want to put spoliers in this thread.

It does take a while to get going, i didnt really start to enjoy the game untill you have finished the building bit at the start.

I'm liking it more now but it does indeed feel like it lacks some "something" and some physics elements are a bit tedious (though obvious).

Watch this video to see how a simple task took so long because of the tedious physics in the control mechanics!

Understand what you mean, how ever if you stood more to the right (closer to the wall) when you swung the pipe round bringing it to your left you would have had more control rather than it being too close to your body.

I aggree though it can take some getting use to, especially the chairs when you set them on fire and pointing them the right way, it's all good fun.

Only probs im having now is the lack of AA and the game res swithing back to default 800x600 every time i retsart the game.

I'm still in the building at the reception hall part, its not that great at the moment. Hopefully it will pick up later on :)

yea im there too, damm stupid controls! all i want to do is put the chair in the fire then chuck it at the guy.... booo nooo he starts to do some impression of special needs hammer throw (no offence intended) :p

So I've finished it and uninstalled my game and revoked the license. Anyone want Alone in *** dark for cheaps? :p

I agre with what most have said about this game, it feels overly clunky when it should be flowing like resident evil 4.

That said, im still playing the game which must say something. At the moment im kinda stuck in the sewers and trying desperately to figure it out rather than using google ha ha.

I get th eodd time when securom doesnt want to launch the game from the shortcut yet will work just fine through the games explorer link.

Im not sure what the main prob is control wise it may be as simply as it doesnt feel fully responsive. Switching to pistol and trying to move aim quickly between targets is not easy even with hand sensitivity at max.

But like i said im still playing it so im hoping things get better once ive got the game into the more free roaming areas.

In response to psychas the presentation is nice, the camera is usually in a kind of movie esque position, theres some great moments and set pieces i think the games strength is in the music and general presentation. Is it scary? thats a matter of opinion, i dont find it scary and i cant say theres been any jumpy moments at all but it does have a definate atmosphere like resident evil or silent hill.

I'm quite suprised no one else hasnt mentioned the lack of AA.

Am the only one with this issue?
