Alpha Centauri (Sold Out Software release)

One of my biggest regrets was to not have played this when it came out in '99 :eek:

So I bought the Sold Out Software release a few weeks ago and I tried running it, but it doesn't work

If I run the XP compatibility patch, I get a message saying my CPU is not compatible and it aborts. Without that patch, I can play but I get random lock-ups/reboots etc. in time frames of anything between 5 and 30 mins. But they ALWAYS happen.

Any ideas what's wrong :confused:

Specs: AMD64 3200+, Radeon 9800 Pro, 1GB Ram, XP Prof.

Hmm.. I was going to say something like dual-core compat but that's obviously not the case.

Pretty sure I've ran it on a similar system to that though :/

Looking through that if you add

ForceOldVoxelAlgorithm=1

to the end of the Alpha Centauri.ini file you'll still get the warning but it wont drop you to desktop.

Nope still no luck, still getting random lock ups/reboots
