Alpine EZ-Cool Case Thoughts..

Why would you want things to heat yp when the AMDs use less power, create less heat, can be cooled silently and are faster? Only reason I have a pentium D was that it only cost me £80, considering the recent price drops of AMD X2s they arent that good value now either. Plus conroe is out...

I use s Pentium cause of the RAW power then can output, tried an Athlon XP 2800 felt sluggish comapred to a Pentium 2.8GHZ P4 Northwood, with a Penitum it raw power for me, especially encoding vidoe, the pentium flies, right now the Pentium D 830 kills a 3.4GHZ Northwood, but jsut runs so HOT!!, if I can sort that out i'd be happy...

And an athlon x2 would be faster still, you're comparing the athlon xps which were slower than their pentium 4 counterparts. Athlon 64s are not.

Also just how hot is it running? (at stock?)

Hehe @ the s80 being flimsy, it is made with about twice as much metal than the stacker 830 is.

Why do you want that stacker? It's a terrible case! Save your money and get the PC-7+.

EDIT:

If you have to spend a lot of money to satisfy your needs, then get the Akasa Eclipse 62, at least then you'll be sure of a fantastic case.

You have one?, sned me it and I will judge for myself, I liek the stacker cause it is rock solid, and the door is great, compared to a P180 and the S80 I hate full size doors, and weak ones , i had a case like that, there flimsy, but the stacker is jsut solid and the mesh looks great, i love the power button o nthe top, no more reaching down to switch the PC on...

Are you saying the S80 has a flimsey door?

The door that is 2mm aluminium, foam, then another 1mm aluminium sheet screwed down ontop?

Athlon XP's got beat by P4's.

The X2's are considerably faster than the DC Pentiums in basically everything.

60 Degrees...,74 Degrees Full Load with Silverstone NT06 Cooler in Sugo

55 Degrees idle, 62 Degrees full load with Stock Intel cooler running at 4000 RPM..

with a 3.4GHZ northwood never went over 55 full load..., same for Ahtlon X2 3800...., now you know how HOT these Dual Core Pentiums Run..

But your CPU cooler has no fan on and your using your PSU for cooling to get those temps?

He would know how hot they run, he has one!

The 830 is not a good case, the P180 is. Yewen just recently got an S80b and from what I've heard it's fantastic, better than his V1000+.

I have a PC-7+, are you saying i'm lying about it have two 120mm fans and an 80mm at the top? Why?

- 120mm at the back.

- 120mm at the front.

- The 80mm at the top.

.

I satrted laughing when I saw the foam, looked like a home made project, that door reminds me of the Antec P180 one, I hate them doors..I'd rather have a case with no doors, I want all my stuf showing, nothing beats the design of the the Apple G5 case, so i'd go for the Lian Li V1000 if i was sure it would cool my setup down effectively...but if the PC-7+ can do a good as job as the V1000 for less cash i guess that is the case to go for...

Right, you are using a relatively rubbish cooler (compared to big typhoon, ninja etc,) in a tiny case and it is running hot. Any standard sized case + a decent cooler would sort that out.

In case you arent reading what I put, I do know how hot they run. I have one overclocked by more than 1000mhz running on air in a super lanboy (freezer 7 pro cooler)

Then get a PC-7+ and use the spare money to buy a PC-60 side-window.

What on earth are you on about?

You can't see the foor foam on any of the pictures, and the only foam you can see in the pics in the thread is on the rear silencer.

The best built case I have ever used looks like a home made project, have you ever used one in person?

If you have you should realise how bad the Stacker 830 is for build quality. Especially for the money when you compare it to the PC7+

no top fan according to the lian li website, do oyu have the blower fan for the expansion cards?...

It most certainly has a top fan mounting. :p

And there is absolutely no need for the blower fan in a PC7+, its airflow like a wind tunnel through the case removes all the heat you could want, can run a SLI rig without a blower fan. :)

pc7%20(23).jpg

See that, fan mounting in a PC7aSE.

My 80mm is an added bonus :)

Any extra heat that rises, the 80mm blows out :)

All PC7 cases from the rev.1 have a 80mm blowhole. :)

Not just the new one.

How od i know i will get that one?..

"Fan: 12 cm ball bearing x 1, 8 cm sleeve fan x 1"

That is listed on the lian li site to, for the PLus II, 12CM * 2, no mention of any top fan...

It does not come with one.

You can buy one to put into the mounting as an aftermarket addition.

All the cases in the PC7 series, from the PC7 rev.1 to the PC007 come with the ability to hold a 80mm top mounted exhaust fan.

I haven't heard of a single person who hasn't been shipped one with the 80mm blow hole from OcUK yet. Even if you do, I'm pretty sure they'll swap it to a later model for you.

I bought an Akasa Amber 80mm seperately. The two 120mm are stock and are only LEDs in the silver case.
