My bro has not long bought a corsair TX750 and all it has is 6+2 connecters, will this be ok?

Would I be right in guessing that it's because the clip that holds the connector in place is in a different position on 6+2 PCIE as opposed to on the 8's?

I think I read somewhere that it was the PSU manufacturers not sticking to the standards that's causing the issues.

Its nothing to do with Nvidia, as said above, its the PSU manufacturers not sticking to the standard specs.

HAve the people having problems with it got oldish psu's, as in the very first to come out with new spec?

I remember the Thermaltake 650W psu was it, that came out a few years ago when pci-e 6 pins were new and they had the wrong connectors. AS did/does my Silverstone with 8 pin and both needed adaptors, this is more because the people that make the standards, can change the standards whenever the heck they want

Both times the 6 and 8 pin were different shaped connectors in developement stage and many pre-release samples of cards have the different connectors aswell. Its normally someone randomly asks for more power makes a psu themselves to power and test their kit, make it a standard, then before it goes final they change it so it can't be forced into any other connectors to save people from the idiots that will just force any plug into anything it fits in.
