Type quit in console?

I use the console when i can, as above

But i have no problem quickly going through the menu... as alt f4 usually causes problems, mainly with more recent games!

Why i'm always busting up Guitar Hero 3 for a quick blast.. You can be in a song within about 30 seconds and it will quit in a split second with the old ALT+F4. No quibbles. Take that consoles.

Esc, and then F2 twice. Then you can save and quit. I had to Google for it.

Only bugged/crashed games will fail to allow the task manager to appear and that's the only reason I'd say it couldn't work.

Once you're there, hit Processes not Applications and kill the process. Not many programs tend to stay running after that. If dumprep.exe turns up to scribble some gibberish to a log before allowing the program to close tell it to clear off too.

I hate games that make you load the main menu before they allow you to quit. There should be a quit directly to windows button available on the esc menu at ALL times during a game.

That's all I ever do as I only really play Source games now. That will stop when Modern Warfare 2 is released.

EDIT: Just read the boycott thread, that will not stop when MW2 is released, Left 4 Dead 2 it is.

That's surely got to be an operating system flaw as opposed to the application though?

As for the ALT-F4 thing, IMO that should work for games running in windowed mode, but not fullscreen.
