Is there anyway for me to up my voltages for my X1600XT? Just so i can get a better OC 'tis all :) If anyone can provide links on how its done ( i have a feeling it has to be done via a BIOS flash) that would be great, cheers

I think you can actually just change it in some motherboards in the bios as a menu setting. I don't know if that is possible on your motherboard though(and you don't mention what motherboard you have anyway :)).

LOL a graphics card voltage control in the motherboards bios, now ive heard it all :D

Sorry thought it was in my sig, alas no, its a Asrock DualSATA 939. Havent seen an option in BIOS. Are there any programs that allow adjustment of the GPU BIOS tho? Probably not, but just a thought

He's thinking of the AGP slot voltage, which you can change in your BIOS, but it has no effect really, it tends to kill cards and won't change their internal voltages.

The X1600 series don't have GPU voltage control, only the X1800/19000 cards.

I think I could do it via my bios on the Asus K8V SE Deluxe as in shift from 1.5v nominal through the AGP slot to higher voltages(the fact that it has no AGP/PCI locks does suck but nevermind) although I'm using a different computer at the moment so I've got no way to check for the next month or so to prove you right or wrong.

You could also consider actually suggesting some way to help the original poster as well as laughing at my (possible) mistake. ;) :)

//edit Minstadave figured it out.

ok thats cool, thanks guys. Guess i should have saved up on my build for the x1800 i originally planned lol, oh well its next on my upgrade path, and the X1900XT looks even more tempting :rolleyes: does it ever end? lol

ok then, im pretty shure the only way to increase voltage on the X1600 is to do a resistor mod
