Having broken down this year with water pump failure and having no coolant gauge ( how stupid is this ? )I have downloaded a free version of an app , car scanner and it has a dashboard , just wondering if anyone else uses an android dashboard, maybe with more info having said that.most of you guys don't drive skanky cars like me :p

There's an app called DashOBD which is apparently compatible with Android Auto. I've had it downloaded for ages but haven't actually even tried using it as I need to dig out the Bluetooth OBD plug I have somewhere.

That's quite cool, haven't seen this before. I guess you need an OBD plug?

Yep, I got.the.icar pro scan for under £15 iirc it was the cheapest recommended by Haynes, the main app I bought it for is vag dpf after getting the dpf warning once.
This is just after a regen but still hot enough to burn soot ( -373 MG/M) , with this I know exactly when a regen will start and I can adjust my driving to suit as with it relying on post injections to amp up the dpf temps (mines euro 5) ,the fuel can actually dilute the engine oil ,plus cuts down on the time the insane exhaust has temps happen.

I do:

This is the Torque app installed on the aftermarket head unit, with an ELM327 Bluetooth dongle left in the the OBD2 port.

This is the default screen for when the car starts up.

I also went through the menu of gauge choices to find a colour that matches the car's interior illumination.

I actually did buy the torque pro app but it seems to stop my vag dpf working, may have another bash after my next regen
