alternative for packages

just sent a small box of for a member in the members market on these forums and was shocked to find that to send it via 1st class its close to £6 yet i have been told that it would be cheaper via a courier

You can ask for Special Delivery at the Post Office. It can work out cheaper than regular 1st class and is guaranteed next day delivery. You can also insure the contents with Special Delivery too.

Special Delivery is around £4.50 up to 500g in weight.
It's got a compensation level (1st class doesn't) and it is guaranteed next day.
