Alternative to Crucial Ballistix DDR2 PC2-6400C4 800MHz

Hello. Me again.

I've got some of the afforementioned Ram (2x1gb) in my mobo, but it doesnt match well with the board itself. Its an Asus P5N32-E SLi Plus. The memory wont run at stock speeds and Asus and Crucial both tell me to change the board or ram.

If i was to swap the ram, which kit is most similar by another manufacturer? I would want the same quality and customer service (or close as possible). Would this be likely to work any better with the board?

Or should i change the board rather than the ram? hmmm.

The ASUS board you have is known for its memory incompatability issues.

As for equivalent memory a G.Skill 6400 kit uses the same chips as the Ballistix

But to my knowledge no one offers the same customer services as Crucial

hmm reckon i should chop in the board then?

Could pick up a second hand DS3 or P5N-E for reasonable amounts now

DS3 loves Ballistixs PC6400 ram!!

change the board and keep the ram would be my advice!

decided to go with the GA_P35C_DS3R i think, see if i can pick one up on the MM or bay. Should be able to flog my board for a similar price for minimal loss!
