Alternative to iTunes?

Finally entered the modern age, and picked up a 4GB iPod Nano, but I'm not too happy about letting iTunes onto my system.

What's the alternative for dropping music onto an iPod? I already have my CD collection backed up to MP3 on my PC....

i've never used it, becuase i don't have an ipod /spits on floor

but there's a winamp ipod plugin on here somewhere..

no messing about with playlist etc, just drag and drop explorer style, works great

I've used that, and it's pretty good (if you like Winamp).

It will let you play from the iPod direct, or transfer music to and from the iPod very easily - Right Click -> Send to -> iPod/Library.

Yeah Winamp is what I used for music before I got my iPod so the pretty good support for portable music devices is a thumbs up.

The latest plugin however is a bit crap, get the ml_iPod plugin. The Winamp plugin is based on this, but not as good, I think. http://www.mlipod.com/

Ephpod and Yamipod (Google 'em ) are good totally free alternatives as well.

I don't see why people don't like iTunes, it's a cracking app and Auto-sync beats drag & drop any day of the week
