Alternative to outlook?

My mum uses her laptop for just internet and emails. I dont want to spend £90+ for a outlook 2007 license just for emails.

What do you guys use? any good alternatives out there to outlook?

I tried using Outlook 2007 (and the 2010 Beta), but I felt it was a bit 'too much' for just sending and receiving the occasional E-Mail.

I would recommend Windows Live Mail, found with the Windows Live package:

If you just want the Mail application, make sure that's the only one selected when installing.

Live mail, its great, has quite a few features - definatly the best all rounder.

You could just download Mozilla Thunderbird. Pretty much outlook, but free.

The bat is great, but I think you need to buy it. Thunderbird should fit the bill. opera has an in builtemail client that works well. check eudora out as well.

Another vote for Windows Live Mail. Fine for a free product and should do everything you need.
