Alternative to The Pod

I'm looking for a support when shooting and as I'm not the type to carry a tripod around with me I have been looking at The Pod which can currently be had for a tenner.

However, the screw is centre mounted and so it works best with short lenses and might tip a bit with longer ones. Anyone know an alternate that would suopport longer lenses better?
