Alternative to WoW ?

back in classic and tbc leveling was far slower than it is now

Surely the leveling up to 60 is the same speed though? Unless quests give more exp now? Though even now leveling is extremely grindy, not that this is a problem though, it's quite enjoyable, I just don't get how people can say 'dont play X over WoW because it's too grindy'

If your thinking of quitting wow because of the graphics then. I feel for you son.

Wow truly is the best mmo. As much as Id hate to admit it. Nothing else grips me as well.

I agree with you 100% I have played other MMO but i always go back to World Of Warcraft, as its still grips me everytime! i hate to admit it tho!

The level 90 boost also eliminates what remains of the grind if you so wish.

Level 1-60 used to take much longer however. And 60-70 was reduced when WOTLK was introduced. 70-80 was reduced in XP requirements at the intro of Cataclysm, and I assume the same has happened to 80-85 for Pandaria and 85-90 for Warlords.

WoW is the best MMO out there. And it's not ageing unlike other games due to the cartoon like art direction. Christ, what other game from 2004 holds up as well as WoW?

You get more exp from 20-60 and the required exp per level is much less.

Back in vanilla the average time from 1-60 was 18 days played time. That can be done in hours now by grinding instances.

Yep, Did 80-90 in about 10 hours over the weekend. 85-90 went from 8 million exp per level to 600k. With each instance giving 60k upon finishing. I took 3-5 instances plus a few quests in each zone to level

The main reason WoW does so well is that it can be played on a calculator.

It looks horrific and thats hard to get past if you're trying it for the first time like i did a week ago.

Not sure if serious???

Yes WoW has a cartoony art style, but it definitely doesn't look horrific - the new zones look fantastic.

The calculator thing is not true these days either - yes it will run on low spec machines, but you are going to make sacrifices to get it to run ok. Raiding in particular needs at least a mid range machine or you will get slow down.

Ok so after seeing the new character models I've decided to give this another try.

Now 1 question about this level 90 boost thing, Upon purchase of the new expansion do I automatically get this boost or was it for pre-orders only ?

You'll get the boost mate, I bought it post release and got it. Its a really good expansion IMO. WoW lost its edge in recent years compared to vanilla but this one is so much better. I'm enjoying it massively.

Thanks for the info, My favourite expansion was TBC, Love Shattrath, The music of the Outlands was immense *I'm a sucker for WoW's music* and it seemed I met a butt ton of really cool people during that expansion.

I tend to mute sound and listen to my own music but the music that is in WoD is very good compared to the old stuff. A lot of people seem to enjoy it a lot.
