Alternatives to FAT32?

I'm after a filesystem that I can read and write to using OSX, Linux and Win7 with ease. I have a 5gb partition that I keep for sharing files between OS'.

Would it be ok to use FAT32 in this case, or is there a better alternative?

FAT32 unless the files you share are over 4GB. NTFS is fine though, just install NTFS-3G on OSX.
