Hi guys,

I know this has been asked before but what are all you Macrium Free refugees using now as an alternative? I understand that was a big MS update in April that is blocked certain system files associated wit Macrium and a few other EOL products.

Thanks.

I've used AOMEI Backupper a few times, the free version is pretty capable and worked a treat for me for cloning/backup.

Was going to suggest giving "EaseUS Todo Backup Free". But just read some comments that some features have been pushed to their Paid version.

To be honest I am still using an old copy of Acronis which still does enough I need to do.

Clonezilla I think still gets good feedback, but I have not used it in a long time.

One little free backup tool I use to manage disk partitions is a gparted live image.

Thanks guys! Will check out your suggestions. In other news, having Macrium installed on my new build was messing up my start menu - I couldn't select the Power menu (for shutting down, restarting etc.), the menu just timed out. I removed Macrium (last version before it was pulled) with Revo - ensuring to remove all the orphaned keys etc., and now it's fine :D

Clonezilla I think still gets good feedback, but I have not used it in a long time.

I use CloneZilla a lot and would recommended it. Decent little utility.

edit... Sorry, it was RescueZilla, not CloneZilla (but I believe they are related)

While their primary domain registrar and some business listings use US-based registration services for global e-commerce and distribution, the core development, engineering, and support team is located in China.

I wonder why a lot of these free based clone software are registered in the west but run from China?

I've used Rescuezilla (on a Ventoy USB drive) a bit recently, which I believe is just a GUI for Clonezilla.
Seems OK, I think the image has GParted on it too, but I may be misremembering.
