Mr Flibster may be saying midday, I would prefer us to get there a bit more like 10-11ish

Mrs Flibster

LOL

From the email: "Anyway - looks like it's around 2 1/2 hours from here to Alton Towers so....

If we leave around 8:30-9:00am we'd be looking at arriving before midday. Maybe as early as 11am - although thats unlikely as fuel/coffee/traffic will play a part. "

And remember your stretchy pants for the all you can eat restaurant! Unless we plan on going somewhere else on Thursday - it was fairly pricy as I recall.

Is this the SL restaurant? Mic and I weren't there last year. How much is "fairly pricy" just so we know how much to re-mortgage for :p

So refreshing to be close to the meet location for a change. I can be there in under an hour if I'm 'liberal' with my right foot

I think it was something like £14.95 (possibly more), but that was all in for the food and you can go up as many times as you want, and put custard on as many hotdogs as you want. Drinks are on top of that, and I think we had some kerrrazy cocktails which weren't cheap. I guess it's not too bad, but when you add up the cost of the weekend it is another sneaky bit of wedge that some might not have budgeted for.

Drinks at the B&B > Snobby wine bar ;)

Bringing 4 bottles of bubbley stuff any way as there is going to be a BIRTHDAY GIRL there... :D That'll be at the B&B though..along with the cake..

Car is going into the garage tomorrow for some more new brakes *last done before the LOLOMGWTFBBQ meet - me?? heavy on brakes?? naaah... ;)* Still - last time for this car.

Anyway - now seems that we're going to be leaving before 8am... That means coffee WILL be required on the trip down.

Comedy hat is prepared and all excited about it. ;)

Oh joy......

What supermarket you going to, I can meet you there.

Where's best for you really?

Thinking that locally - Sainsbury's near the A1M Junction in Stevenage is best for petrol but pretty parp for food/snacks/drinks - there will be a other supermarkets on the way down - what and where I have no idea. :D

Snobby wine bar is now closed
Serves them right for not letting us in. Ner. :p

Yep, I'm still here, but I've got to complete a project at work by this Sunday, or I don't go to AT (my idea, not my Boss). I'm still no good at hills, but I'm sure I'll survive. :)

PS - Piggymon, email me your MSN (if you use it), so we can sort out SL arrangements. :)

Consider it done. :)

Oh, and for those who need to buy drinks for the B&B night, don't know about off-licenses, but there's definitely a 24 hour Tesco about 200yds down the road from the B&B. :)

There was that "off licence" discount-back-of-the-van-from-france shop on the corner next to the Indian restaurant we went into as well :)

I have a bottle of Chateau Neuf that I bought in France a year ago - might bring that along. :)

Ahh.. I remember that one. Had copious bottles of White Lightning if I remember rightly.

With just 1 week to go I have finalised some plans and got some bits cleared up

SPLASH LANDINGS ( Thursday 18th May )

We will endevour to meet in the reception area at around midday, I know some people will be getting there earlier but we should all be there by lunch time

You will get your Splash Landings passes to enable you to go swimming but we won't be able to check into the room until 3pm. They do have a left luggage room where we can store everything until our rooms are ready

Have fun, have food, drink and a giggle until about 6pm where we will then go back to our room to get ready for the night ahead

I will book us into the " All you can eat " buffet unless anyone has any objections ? Will book this for about 7.30pm. This is the best option for a big group. After food we can retire to the bar area of either hotel and relax for we have an early start in the morning !

8.30 am We will meet in the reception area and CHECK OUT. Put all our luggage back in our cars ( some people arriving via choo choo will need some help with this please ) and we will then be able to enter the Theme Park ( via a shortcut from the hotel ) with our Early passes. Leave our cars parked in the Hotel Car Park and join the rest of the gang

THEME PARK PEOPLE ONLY ( Friday 19th May )

Because the Splash Landings folk will already be in the park we will meet you at the fountain just inside the entrance at 10AM. We will not be waiting any longer than about 10 minutes ! .. If you are late then you will need to get in contact with someone to try and find where we are !

Once we are soaked through , puked our guts up and generally had enough .. those of us staying at the B&B will convoy back to freshen up ( again some people will need a lift there so help if you can )

Once we are all suitably washed and dressed we will find somewhere to eat ( not everyone likes Indian and I'd rather not split the group up again but if anyone has specific needs please post and we will TRY and find somewhere to suit everyone )

We'll head back to the B&B once our food has gone down and relax in the dining area with some alcohol and have a jolly good chinwag !!

I have PROMISED the B&B owner that we will NOT leave a mess and have asked that he leaves Bin Bags out for us to leave the area as we found it... we MUST clear up after ourselves because I am not prepared to break a promise

If I find out anyone has left a mess I will personally hunt you down and unleash the Piggyslap of DOOM !!!1111

Saturday we'll chill out and head home at our leisure

It's going to be an awesome few days and I'm really looking forward to it :D

We've got further to travel this time, so chances are we might not be there at 10 on the dot.

Sinead, I'll give you or Jim a call at around half 9ish and let you know where we are and what time we'll be there. We do intend to be there as eary as possible, but no doubt we'll get lost on the way or delayed- It normally happens so we might as well say now :D
