Audi and the likes acctually used a Zinc rich primer to prime their [pannels in. now if youve ever held a tin of this stuff you will know why they call it 'zinc rich' that stuff is HEAVY...yet just a pot of paint !

Still, isn't that only for the painted surfaces? For exposed surfaces, of which I'm sure there are a few, are protected by the oxide layer...
