Always check your voltages....

Well the memory recommeded voltage is 1.6
I had it set as 1.7 I just changed it to 1.63 to see how it responds.

I was thinking of setting hte CPU voltage to 1.4 is that too much?

It just crashed yet again this time no BSOD it simply stopped and the music jarred. I remember this was a problem before when I had my timings wrong and the memory voltage on auto.

so I have gone into the BIOS and set the memory voltage as 1.7 and then CPU voltage as 1.35

Gosh this is annoying me now.

Hello psd99, if you download an application called CoreTemp, once it is installed, load it up and take a look at the "VID" section, it will state a certain voltage which will be the stock voltage of that particular chip.

Oh and don't panic, the above temperatures aren't my idle temperatures. I'm currently running Prime 95. :p

Just out of interest, what voltage are you putting through your q6600 to hit3.6?

Hi thanks mine says it is 1.3250

as I am getting a BSOD do I need to go into the BIOS and set this as 1.3250 just to rule out this is the problem?

Hi psd99, have you overclocked your processor yet? If you haven't then leaving the "VCore" setting on "Auto" is absolutely fine and it shouldn't be causing you any problems on that setting.

Hi northun_munky, I'm currently or was should I say putting 1.5 volts through the processor. However, I have lowered the overclock a bit since my system was crashing and the temperatures where hitting nearly 80 degrees so I couldn't really raise the voltages anymore. I am only using Air Cooling. :)

Yes I did I changed the multiplier to 9 then the FSB to 333
The memory has also been set to standard
see thing is it used to be 1066 but it is now the full 1333 which is what it says on the packet

it might be the memory that is causing the BSOD/crashing
