Just changing a flat tyre I have and I noticed the bolts came off with the force of my fingers, just the one wheel mind the others were on tight.

Can they just come loose?

Always give them a quick check to make sure they are tight, after all they are quite important not too have a wheel drop off :)

I drove from Southport to Lancaster and back on loose wheel nuts once. I was wondering what the clunking noise was that it was making... Thank **** the wheel didn't come flying off on the motorway.

I agree. My wheel fell off.....I thought it was a CV joint clicking.

The car did feel weird to be fair and looking back I usually would have checked them if I wasn't such a stressed and rushed ****.

I often check my oil and water but never check my wheel nuts, guess its more important so will make sure they are checked quite often!

You should periodically check your wheel nuts/bolts the expansion and contraction of different alloyed metals can cause the nuts/bolts to become loose. Also always check after the first couple of laps on track.

Before anyone says "but my wheels don't get hot" your brakes do ;)
