Am being ripped off

This is getting really weird folks.

I placed that order on susat.co.uk and I got my receiver from smssat.biz a website with different landbased address on their site:eek:. I sent the cancellation emails to susat.co.uk. I just realized that

The telephone phones on both sites don't seem to be of any good as nobody picks up the phone. This is unacceptable. I have no receiver and no money

Their website says:Our Sales and Customers Services departments are open:
Monday to Saturday 09:00 - 18:00

Evidently they aren't

I found my emails. I sent a cancellation notice on the 13th of octomber. I dont even remember when i placed the order since they sent me no confirmation email or anything but it must be a week before i sent them the e-mail.

You sent the cancellation notice next Friday?
Or did you mean September?

I sent the cancellation notice on the 13th of octomber because i had no confirmation of my order after having it placed about 2 weeks before the cancellation. I dont remember exactly as they never sent me an email.

Am I missing something here?
Given that it's the 11th October today.

Sorry am irritated and confused. I sent the cancellation notice on the 13 Sep. Which means that i placed my order about 10-12 days before that. I got charged £160 and also received the delivery on the 2th of octomber almost a month later. When i called them to say that am sending it back they said that they got no cancellation emails from me. LIARS!
Now i can't get hold of them. Also i placed an order on one site and I got it from another

It's been a week since I sent the receiver back and I have yet to see a full/partial refund

First off, under the DSR's it is illegal for any retailer to charge you a restocking fee. If you return the item within 7 working days of receipt you are entitled to a full refund minus postage charges and you will have to pay for the return postage.

It gets muddled as you sent them a cancellation email so really they should'nt have sent it in the first place and you should'nt have had to pay any postage. In that case you should be entitled to the postage charges being refunded too.

This company seems to be operating on a dodgy basis to me and i think you need to get in touch with http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ . They will give you some advice, usually within 24hrs and should even pass your details onto the local trading standards for the retailer concerned. These are good people and have helped me out a couple of times. Just give them all the details possible in the order of events.

I placed my order, got no comfirnation of it and after more than week i decided that they are time wasters so i decided to send them an email to cancel my order. A month later they send me the order and now they will take it back with a 20% restocking fee. Whats weird is how is it possible to placed an order on one site and get it from another?
After a week i see no refunds being made. That and only that is dodgy. Am contacting consumerdirect.

They are good people mate. The sooner you do it the better too. With things like this it's best not to waste time. It's quite a lot of money too. hopefully they will sort this out for you and Trading Standards will come down on them like a ton of bricks. They did with the retailer i had problems with. They will also scrutinise the retailers website and if there's anything wrong will literally tear it to pieces. If they are doing this to you then there's a good chance they are doing it to others too.

This is WEIRD!

Just called them again just now and the guy told me that he will refund to me tonight all the costs of my order plus the amount i spend to send the item back to them. In contrast to that I got a letter from them as apart from the invoice saying that ma going to have to pay a 20% surcharge

Well i dont care anymore....I just want to see my money hit my account and second why did they expect me to call them in order to credit the refund?

I won't rest till i see my money!

I would still report them and i would'nt believe a thing they said until the money was back in the bank. I guess you will not be using them again then. Seems a dodgy outfit to me.

Could it be that they didn't get the emails? You said that they did not reply, so it may be that they didn't get them. You do know that email is not a guaranteed service, and that a mail not bouncing back is no indication of delivery? (Mail servers only bounce back to be polite, it is not required and still does not account for messages lost in transit). It is exactly the same as if you post a letter, you have no way of knowing if they got it unless the recipient tells you somehow (i.e. by replying).

Even if they did get the mails, your local copies are in no way proof that you notified them. In future, if you send a cancellation by email and get no reply, try and contact them another way.
