Hi, I've never benchmarked my SSD until now. I've always thought it was doing really well (only compared to using a HDD)

Ive got a Kingston V300 60GB just for my OS and here is the benchmark that seems pathetic compared to others of this SSD;

Im running windows 8.1 all updated, CPU is an E8500 and mobo is an asrock g31m-s

Any suggestions?

Get a new motherboard with Sata 3 ?

that looks Like top whack for Sata 2 ?

I wouldn't even worry how long does windows 8.1 take to boot <10s then its fine. Isnt it ?

School boy error, never even thought of Sata 2...

Yeah about 11 seconds from cold boot.

G31 is quite an old chipset.

Whilst the figures are lower than SATA3, you wouldn't typically notice the difference SSD speed alone.

The lower access/seek speeds are where SSD's really crush HDD in terms of speed.
