am i dumb or ek instructions wrong??

Just fitting a d5 to an ek-d5 x res, the drawing shows it being fitted res>pump>oring>clamp plate. If I do it that way something is going to snap.

Now I found a video of the non csq res top being fitted and the guy went res>oring>pump>clamp plate, this way it fits perfectly though not leak tested.

So who's in the wrong here??

Got to be oring between pump and res. Defeats its purpose otherwise surely.

Yeah would be between the pump and res I would think, able to post a picture to be sure? Usually the o-ring sits in the groove round the edge off the pump body and between the top. Would think the res version would be the same.

Apparently someone else found the issue. EK admitted it was a screw up.

Haha thats who I purchased the res from (hyperst).

I did think to my self "that O-ring isn't doing anything there surely?"

it's just a confusing diagram that's all. They should have put arrows indicating to slide the O ring and the bottom of the block up to meet the top of the block. If you look at the pump you can see where the O ring sits. I would be inclined to remove the res, and lay the top of the pump top down, then put the O ring where it goes then the pump, then the bottom of the top, screw the screws in from corner to corner and then finally screw the res in.
