Found a problem - a big problem possibly. It's removed the dedupe config and won't go back on - so all the files look like they're there, but when you try to access any that have been deduped they are corrupted
hresult 0x8056563a is the error when trying to enable dedupe but that doesn't exist in google (well it will now for this post!).
I got rid of dedupe after a few weeks of having turned it on. It does it in a very weird way, and I just didn't feel comfortable about my chances of getting data back in case of a disaster.
It just seems to be some files - not many so far but with several TB of data I need to ensure I have a full backup of prior to the changes to ensure if I find any more I can just overwrite them.
Given this was a clean copy, I'd say you have much bigger problems. After anything like this I would be super paranoid. New clean VM and re-copy the data?
But as it wasn't spotted that some of the files where whoopsie some have been changed so I've just archived that and started the backup routine again. So far only the one directory seems to have been affected so I think I'm ok.
