Hi there,

I am after peoples opinions if I am in the wrong here.

I have recently sold something over the internet which i bought a while ago brand new by myself from an eRetailer. The product was updated with an addition (quite small IMO) after i bought it (i wasn't aware of the addition). If you go to the manufacturers website it shows the product with the addition.

In the description, I didn't say that it did or didn't come with the addition as i was unaware of the addition. I did however state that pictures can be provided if requested.

Now the person i have sold to has gone onto the interent and seen the product (with the addition) and assumed it would come with it and has bought it.

When he got it he wasn't pleased at the fact that it didn't have the addition.

Am I in the wrong here?

Thanks OCUK!

Wouldn't have thought so, sounds like a bit of a numpty to expect a 2nd hand item to have the specs of something new and only just released if you ask me.
Think that says it perfectly ;)

*Though I'd have used tit instead of numpty :p

its a hard one, if you didnt mention anything about the addition then its not your fault as such.

i take it was an auction site? was it stated that it was second hand or as a New item?

if it was second hand then i would have asked what it came with if it wasnt stated in the listing

Its an item (don't want to be too specific), where the quality should not depreciate, it either works or it doesn't type product, the addition is purely cosmetic I think, although the manufacturer may say otherwise.

I bought the product new 22-june-2005 and it was sold within a week ago.

It wasn't an auction site, and I did mention that they were second hand.

Something not suitable for family reading I bet....
So... you're into that kind of stuff eh?

:p
lol

Sounds like you're fine to me. He certainly can't kick up a fuss if the product works correctly and he didn't seek to verify it in the first place.

You didnt state it comes with, so he assumed 'makin and ASS our of U and ME' thatd what you should say to him. He's got no grounds against you. He should have asked first.

Errrm, err not me. Honest :o

I'm just intrigued, if it is that sort of thing what the "addition" is :p

The guy is a member of these forums i think, but thinking about it i don't think he will care.

The product itself is: GSKILL ZX RAM, the addition that was added later where some heatsinks to the ram

Thanks for the responses guys.
