What about Project Gotham 3, GRAW, Tony Hawks, Burnout, DOA 4, Madden, Fifa, NBA, Prey etc.

All are pretty run of the mill Generic type of games to me, the machine is heaving with them & it's only 8 months old.

Only games I'd say that arent typically generic are Table Tennis & Dead Rising...everything has been seen & done before albeit not quite as good looking as they are now, but still they have been done.

lol, i mean what do you want? Every game that gets released isn't going to be a huge step up and something you have never seen before. Games like this only come around every so often. IMHO the 360 has a good mix of games to my taste (FPS games got more enjoyable once i got to grips the 360 pad).

Do you know the definition of Generic?

PGR3 isn't a generic racer, it's part of the PGR series and thus plays like PGR3, it's not a generic racer.

Burnout is not a generic racer, it's Burnout.

It's arguable for Tony Hawks because nothing has really changed since Tony Hawks 3.

Dead or Alive 4 plays like Dead or Alive, it's not just another fighter (which is testament to Team Ninja and their past record).

Madden, Fifa and NBA are EA Sports licenses and thus are made that way, they are just another game in their sports brands, they were made that way. Looks like Madden '07 could be the first to buck that trend.

Prey isn't just a generic shooter, it has a story line which is solid all the way through, another generic shooter would be something like FEAR, Devestation, Painkiller etc... which are literally, 'generic'.

If you want to be as petty as you are, then Pong and State of Emergency. There, now those games have been done too.

^Oh dear... by your definition no game is generic because they all have their own titles.
Shhh, you don't have a clue yet you feel you have to put your post total up in every thread.

I don't feel a game is generic by it's post total, each of those games only plays like other games in it's series.

nothing to do with post count, stop being such a retentive. It's obvious that the 360 has a lot of average, some say generic, games to anyone, not sure why you don't see this.

If you're going to continue to harass me in every topic may I suggest you simply ignore me and allow me to express my opinion freely.

Oh the irony...

Average and Generic are totally unrelated. Average means neither good nor bad, Generic means no different from. Quick English lesson for you.

I never harassed you...

I'll not get drawn into your little games so back on topic it is:

To the OP:

Have you played on a Nintendo DS or considered getting a Wii? The games market is very stagnant and while I do enjoy my 360 it could certainly never be someones only console. I find Nintendo products offer a great contrast to the 360 games and having a 360 and a DS/Wii is/will be a fantasstic combination.

well I have a 360 and although I will agree there arent a great many games out there that interest me at the moment, there have been a number of surprises.

I sit here looking at

Ridge Racer 6 - Generic maybe fantastic definetly
FNR3 - Awesome
MotoGP - Excellent
PGR3 - Great
Top Spin 2 - My least played game but great fun
Table Tennis - Again Great game but ......
Dynasty Warriors 5 - Love it and possibly my sencond most played game

game sreally lookng forward ot

Ninety Nine Nights
TDU
Dead Rising
Saints Row

then a bit late ron

Gears of War
Halo 3
Forza 2

etc etc.

there are not a great number of great games out there but imho there is certainly enough to keep people interested till septemeber when the real fun will begin.

Oh and as for PC gaming, I simply dont do it other than the odd Dawn of War or LOTRBFME I'm just not intersted anymore in PC games.

I am sitting here on a machine that cost £1200 when new (4 years ago) and a machine that cost £1200 (18months ago) neither would run the newest games as well as they should and TBh I am sick and tired of fiddling around for hours trying to get games to run. the 360 nullifies that.

So I have one PC for MSN / EMail // Forums and the greatest game of all time bar none (Ogame) and one for basically playing Football manager.

360 all the way for me.

I've said it before and I'll agree with poster above. Now is a great time to buy the older machines, specifically the Gamecube or Xbox (less so , but the PS2 soon) as both either die or reduce in popularity at retail. In the last 7/8 months I've picked up a GC and Xbox for very reasonable amounts and have loved playing Monkey Ball, Halo, Ikaruga and SF2 Anniversary Collection amongst others.

All of the above titles came in at under £10 each new...(apart from Ikaruga, I am lying there).

On a personal note the minute I heard the music in that Halo 3 Teaser trailer I was sold on the Xbox360 in one go. However I'm waiting until the newer revision (by this I mean the slightly revised internals and not some rumour of a HDDVD version) or some form of reduction in price. I appreciate I could be waiting until early next year but that suits me fine. Now 40 plus titles on the two machines above to catch up on.

And that's not even mentioning the greatness that is the DS Lite...

Thats mainly what I was getting at to me I think that PGR3, Burnout Revenge, Ridge Racer 6 etc. are all the same as any other racer ok some minor changes to the usual formula but in esscence they are all the same.

Thats the same for the other games I mentioned as well, I wasnt being petty so my apologies if it came across like that but it's just my opinion on the games.

I'm very much of the "been there done it" brigade I'm afraid & because of that I see no real reason to spend over £200 on the machine when the majority of games IMO have all been done before & just as well on an older system.
So I would rather just spend my money by adding to my ever growing Retro Collection while I wait for the Wii to finally surface & see where gaming goes from there.

Can I just ask, are you not looking forward to Enchanted Arms at all? It's possibly my most looked forward to game of 2006 and it's out in 28 days.

(Alan Wake is my most anticipated game on the 360)

I'm feeling a bit flat when it comes to gaming. Nothing has really grabbed me in ages :(

Dead Rising felt a bit of a dissapointment from the demo but I've decided to keep it on pre-order. TDU is going to be great... if they can tweak the handling. It doesn't need much but it needs a little something. Saints Row is ging to go on pre-order but it feels a little like a poor mans GTA.

Also the cost aspect is getting too much for me and with good titles still coming out for the PS2 and Xbox plus a huge back cataloge to trwal through I might give the 360 a little holiday for a month or two.

My 360 was worth it just for the amount of fun PGR3 has given me since christmas.
Had not it blown up on monday, i would be playing it now.

never even heard of them mate, thats not to say I wont love them when they come out, but I base my expectations on the pre order page of certain websites and game demo's :p

I haven't spent time researching the games that are coming out in any great depth at all tbh, just played the demo's, love the demo's and been checking the release dates.

I have a PC and all of the consoles. If I get bored of the PC then I just go on one of the consoles for a few weeks and then back again.

Just depends on what games come out for what system. A few days ago I dug my import Gamecube and I'm now playing Zelda and the Resident Evil series, I forgot how good the little cube was.

We all get bored at some time, I may even get the PS1 out again for FFVII. ;)
